Week 41 Santa Fe Rural C Oficina
Well, my time has gone flying by this week, and I'm already out of time again. Transfers was crazy, but that's normal. We had some great new missionaries arrive this week, they will do wonderful things. We also started planning an awesome multi-stake public concert that we will be doing in conjunction with this years Easter campaign, Prince of Peace. It's going to be an amazing missionary opportunity, but I will talk more about that next week. Basically, I just want you all to know that repentance works. My testimony of repentance grows every week. It is the foundation of the plan of happiness, the basis of all joy. As we repent, we turn to God. We recognize His supremity and wisdom, and put ourselves in line to live according to His plan. Prayer goes hand in hand with this repentance. As we pray, we learn the will of God for us, and we have those moments to then repent and realign ourselves with His will and plan for us. Of course, opposition is real, and it is ever present. A sister in another ward was talking to us this week, and she said, I don't know how, but it seems that somehow Satan seems to manage to work 48 hours in a 24 hour day. But as we build our foundation on the rock of Christ, all the devils hail and winds and torments and storms will have no power to bring us down because of the rock upon which we are built. May we all repent every day, continually building our foundation ever firmer on the rock of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer.

Week 40 Santa Fe Rural C Oficina
Como están mis queridos amigos?
It's been a crazy week. We were all over the place, trying to get a bunch of changes done before transfers next week, including two new apartments. On Tuesday, we (Elder Carrion and I) went to the zone conference in Paraná with Presidente and Hermana Perez. After the conference finished, we went with Hna Perez to review all of the apartments in Paraná. We found some that were in bad conditions (and not for fault of the missionaries), and that we decided we need to change immediately. So we got to work immediately looking for new apartments and starting the legal processes to change apartments. It was fun to be in Paraná, because we passed by my old pension in Terminal! It was weird, I left there over a year ago, but when I got there it felt like I had never left. How fast time flies.
This week we had a noche de hogar (FHE) with some of our investigators in the home of some members. It was amazing and full of the Spirit. We talked about repentance, and the importance of it becoming a recurring habit in our lives, and how, no matter what we've done, we can always repent, and that it is never too late. It might take a little more work the farther we go, but it is always worth it. To teach it better, we related it to a house. When we have a house, it gets dirty. We don't even have to do anything and the house will just get dirty by itself. Dirt will get on the floor, dust will collect, etc. So it's important for us to constantly be cleaning the house, because if we stop cleaning, the house will start to look worse and worse and smell worse and worse. We can't just say, Well, I cleaned last week, so it looks like we're good. It doesn't matter how many times we have cleaned the house in the past, it is something that we will always have to keep doing. On the flip side, it doesn't matter how long we might go without cleaning the house, if we want a clean house, we have to clean it. But it is never too late to clean. We just have to do it. But what do we need to clean? We can't just say, I want to clean, and then the house becomes clean. We need tools. Sponges, brooms, mops, soap, dusters, everything. And then we go to work. We look for the areas that need improving, and we work them with the tools we have. Maybe our front room has a tendency to have a dirty floor, but we have a vacuum just for that, so we take the vacuum and we work that floor until it's clean. It is exactly the same with repentance. It doesn't matter how many times we have repented in the past, we must keep repenting everyday. Satan is constantly working to infiltrate our lives, and we must constantly be cleaning and removing his influence from our lives through the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. But we can't just say "I want to repent" and then expect the work to be done. We've got to then work on it. And the Lord has given us the tools. When we were baptized, we essentially said "I want a clean house, and I'm willing to do what it takes to keep it clean" and the Lord said "Great, here are the perfect tools that you will need to do just that" and He gave us His Spirit. So when we want to repent, we have to have the desire, but then we need to take the tools that He has given us to make that repentance happen. We look for those weak areas, and we work them with His tools, the Holy Ghost, scripture study, sincere prayer, service, priesthood leaders, until it becomes clean again. Some stains come out easier than others, but in the end, if we use the right tools, they always come out. And one of the best parts is the opportunity for a weekly "deep clean" as we partake of the sacrament. Of course, after all is said and done, it's crucial to recognize exactly who gave us those tools, and to realize that without those tools, it would be impossible for us to clean. He has provided everything for us to stay clean, and to clean up when a mess happens, be it our fault or somebody else's. It is there for us, all we have to do is take His word and clean.
I invite each of you with all my heart to take a moment and think a little bit about how you can better apply the "cleaning tools" of the Atonement in your lives. How can you use scripture study, prayer, temple attendance, and fasting to change your life? How can you use these tools to clean the stains and smudges from your lives? As we truly repent, not just stating in a prayer a wish for something different, but really applying a sincere desire for change to our lives, and working that desire into everything we do, we become the children of the Highest and experience the "mighty change of heart" that Alma so often preached of in his prophetic ministry. I know that repentance is a gift from God and that it works. I promise you that as you truly repent, you will feel cleaner, purer, holier, closer to your Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and am forever grateful for a merciful Father in Heaven who loves me and forgives me in spite of my many weaknesses and errors. This is His church, His gospel, His priesthood, His plan.

Week 39 Santa Fe Rural C Oficina
Hola familia y amigos!
It was a good week. I went on divisions with Elder Wiberg, which was a great experience. We taught some awesome lessons to some very prepared investigators. Divisions is always a great time to see miracles. I remember Elder Blackmon told me that his mission president in Rosario, Presidente Zanni, had told him to always look for the miracles in divisions, because he promised him that every time he did divisions he would see miracles, so Elder Blackmon always told me the same thing. So far, it's been true. There's always something that goes unusually well in divisions. We had some great contacts and some very spiritual lessons. It was great.
We also had zone conference this week. Presidente Perez really focused on the rising generation, and the importance of preaching the gospel to the youth, as they are the future of the church. He showed us a powerful video from a training meeting for the quorums of the seventy. It was in Salt Lake, and the Twelve were holding a training for all the general authorities, as well as some area authorities. Elder Andersen was speaking, and he asked all in the room (all seventies) who had been baptized after the age of 25 to please stand. About 10 stood up (there were about 300 people in the room). He then asked all who were baptized between the ages of 9 and 25 to stand up. More than 100 stood up. It was incredible. Elder Andersen went on to explain that the youth who hear the gospel, get baptized, and go on a mission go on to become the future leaders of the church. So Presidente has been focusing a lot on helping us find, teach, and baptize youth, and then help them to go on missions. With this focus on youth, we are also putting a big emphasis on technology. We obviously don't use social media or anything like that in our mission, but we are focusing on helping the youth in our wards and branches to share the gospel through technology, and to invite their friends to hear the gospel through social media. I'm really excited to get working with this, as I can see the Lord's hand really hastening His work through all kinds of mediums and methods. This is His work. I would encourage you all to find a way to share the gospel through technology. Share a video from a conference talk, post your favorite scripture, or even better, send a message to a friend who is struggling or not a member, and invite them to hear the missionaries, and to experience the joy that you have found from living the gospel. I promise that as you do that, you find a greater joy in your own life as you share with others the "good news" of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
As Easter begins to approach in the coming month, as well as general conference, I would also invite you all to begin to ponder on your personal relationship with your Savior, and what you can do to strengthen that relationship. He is your Savior and mine, your Redeemer and mine. He is Jesus Christ. I know that He lives and loves us, and that He wants us to come to Him.

Week 38 Santa Fe Rural C Oficina
Hola!
It's been a crazy week. Definitely not the week that we had planned, but I learned more than anything about the importance of relying on the Spirit and doing what we can with what we have, focusing on the moment, and then leaving the rest to the Lord. When we have faith in Him and in His power, we need not doubt nor fear. It's interesting, because often, fear is the greatest stumbling block to action. When we are afraid, we don't act. Faith is the opposite of fear, therefore, when we have faith, we act. And there is a wonderful scripture that says "perfect love casteth out all fear". When we love, our faith grows, and fear diminishes, and we become servants of the Lord Jesus Christ, acting in faith and power, to bring about His work and purposes on this earth. May we always act with faith and love, loving the Lord more than any worldly thing.

Week 37 Santa Fe Rural C Oficina
Hola!
So, this was an absolutely crazy weekend, and I have had no time to write, so this is going to be a really short email.
We had a capilla abierta last Saturday in Concordia that went really well! For me, it was testimony builder of faith. It was a small branch where we did the activity, and there weren't a ton of members. As we went through the day, some of the missionaries started to get a little disheartened, wondering if we would have success or not. On top of that, there were multiple companionships that had to leave at midday because they had baptisms, including the zone leaders. As the official tours started at 4, there was nobody. We got to 5, and still nobody had come. It was easy to see that some people were starting to doubt. So I talked to Elder Dillon, and we decided we had to do something. We've never had a capilla abierta that wasn't successful, and I know that the Lord doesn't have us do these activities just to have nothing come of it. Normally, the two office elders who go stay in the capilla as kind of the tech/management people, making sure that the tours are running smoothly, the audio is working, the referrals are being recorded, etc. But we knew we had to do something, so we both grabbed a missionary and said, we're going out. We headed out to the streets and just started inviting people, whoever would take an invitation. I LOVE being in the streets! It's so much fun. We finally got somebody who agreed to come in with us for 1 minute, just to look. It was about that, and then he left, but that kind of broke the ice, and as all the missionaries started going out and exercising their faith, miracles began to happen, and people began to come. We even had a couple of entire families pass through! We ended up with 3 or 4 people with a baptismal date and at least 60 or 70 referrals. That is faith in action! When we have faith, and act on it, trusting that the Lord will bless us for our efforts, miracles can and will happen. The excuses that we had to not do anything were innumerable, as well as the reasons to doubt. But as we lay all of those aside, and trust in Him, we are blessed. Faith is real. Faith works. Exercise faith, and you will see blessings.
I love this gospel! It is beautifully simple and powerful.

Week 36 Santa Fe Rural C Oficina
Can I just say that I love being a missionary? I feel like I say it literally every week, but the thing is that it never changes. I love it. It's awesome every week. Sometimes it's easier to recognize it than others, but nonetheless it is always awesome.
We have some great progress going. As a district, we are really starting to work together well, coordinating well with the ward mission leader, working with the word council, planning activities, sharing references, planning lessons, etc., and it really feels like we have a team effort instead of each companionship working on its own. I love it. We can accomplish so much more this way, and everyone seems to be enjoying the increased success that we are having. This week we have started to find lots of new investigators, as well as to set a lot of baptismal dates. The gospel works. It just works.
We have some new investigators that we are working with and that are progressing great. Exxx is the boyfriend of Gxxx’s sister-in-law (if that makes sense). So what happens is that there is a family. The Axxx family. The father is a member, and he has lots of children. Gxxx, who just got baptized, was cohabiting with one of his sons, but since have split up and she lives with them. Exxx is the boyfriend of another one of the Axxx girls. Basically, Hno Axxx is a rock-solid member, who is incredibly diligent with scripture study and prayer. When we started teaching Exxx, he already had a habit of reading the scriptures everyday and praying, and had already started trying to quit smoking because of the influence of his girlfriend, Mxxx, and Hno Axxx, her dad. It’s awesome. Basically, they’re working on getting an appointment made to get legally married, and then he wants to be baptized! We’re helping him to set goals right now to stop smoking, and he’s progressing a lot. Also, he went with the Axxx family yesterday to visit the Buenos Aires temple. HOW COOL IS THAT? What investigator just randomly spends a month raising money so that they can pay the trip for a 7 hour bus ride to go visit the temple? He is super prepared.
We are also teaching another Gxxx, who is the sister of Dxxx. We keep teaching Mxxx and Dxxx, but they’ve got to get married still. They feed the missionaries, give us references, come to church, but still aren’t ready to get married. Not sure what we can do there. But anyways. Gxxx is really interested in the church, and so we’re teaching her now as well. We’re working on setting a baptismal date for her.
The mission is great. Besides that, not much outside the normal. I love the gospel. I say it so much, but it remains true. The beautiful simplicity and yet profoundness of the doctrine and principles of the gospel leave me in awe. I know that our Savior’s love is powerful, that it is an enabling love, a love that gives us power to change, a real power that moves and motivates us and makes us better. That is the love of Christ. That is charity. And when we have charity, which is a gift from God, we are able to help others to make those same kinds of changes through the power of Christ and His Atonement. Pray for charity every day. It is among the greatest of all spiritual gifts.
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen.

Week 35 Santa Fe Rural C Oficina (who is really counting anyways?)
Another transfer gone, and here we go starting up again!
We had a big group of 13 arrive this transfer, a great group as always. I love receiving the new missionaries, they always have such an amazing spirit and excitement to do the work of the Lord. It's contagious. As we watch them receive their new companions and get excited for their first area, it reminds me of how wonderful missionary work is, and helps me feel the wonder of being a missionary every single day. What a blessing!
We also sent off 6 missionaries this week. It's starting to get a little hard, because they are starting to be missionaries that I know well. You see them heading home, knowing some of them you probably won't see again. It can be hard, but it is part of the mission. And it is always awesome to spend time with them their last day and hear their testimonies and see the ways that their mission has changed them.
This week, since Elder Gifford is going home in about two weeks, the new assistant arrived, and he is none other than Elder Gomez, my district leader from Nogoyá! I'm so excited to be in his district again, I have learned so much from him and hope to continue to learn from him. He's a great missionary.
Other than that, we've just been busy busy busy organizing meetings, paying rents, reimbursing travel, and trying to keep everything together during transfers. It's always a crazy week, but full of memories. We're excited to get back to work the coming week, as we have lots of investigators and potential investigators to find and teach!
I love this gospel. I know it's true. I love my Savior, and am eternally grateful for a Heavenly Father who is perfectly merciful and forgiving. I have so many faults, so many imperfections, and make so many mistakes, and yet in the midst of all, He sees fit to bless me in so many ways. I will follow Him forever, because I love Him.
